In brief: Think-Cervical Facet
Disc bulge may be an incidental finding.
Probably may be a contribution of the cervical facets. See a spine physiatrist, pain m.D or spine physician.

In brief: Home Traction
After you get re-evaluated by someone with experience in spinal treatment, like an orthopedist or a good osteopathic gp, you might be a good candidate for home cervical traction.
These units are simple to use after basic instruction, very cost effective, and can provide a great deal of relief from neck (and as a result, back) pain.Best of all, there is no issue of being "hooked" on pain meds!
