Unfortunately, COPD is a slowly progressive and incurable disease.
It can affect the heart by increasing vascular pressure in the lungs which results in the heart having to work harder to pump blood into the lungs. If your oxygen level is low enough to warrant supplemental oxygen, you need to wear your oxygen all the time. Smoking cessation is absolutely necessary, if you still smoke.
