My baby is big but my plasma glucose test is normal as well as the others. Why?

Large for gestationa. The mother has a large for gestational age infant. This is sometimes due to gestational diabetes. At times it is because of maternal overweight or the development of gestational diabetes in the future pregnancies. Even if the mother has normal fasting glucose, she should have glucose tolerance test and hemoglobin A1c to confirm that she does not have type 2 or gestatational diabetes.
