Glucose tolerance. Between 24 and 28 weeks, you be given a glucose tolerance test, in which you drink a specific beverage and have your blood glucose checked 1 hr after completion. Depending on those results, if abnormal, you may be diagnosed with gestational diabetes or require further testing. Depending on the type of gestational diabetes, treatment may include dietary changes or Insulin therapy.
Glucose Tolerance. Doctors typically screen for gestational diabetes with either a 1 hour glucose challenge or a 2 hour tolerance test between 24-28 weeks of gestation.
