In brief: EVLT Varicose Veins

Evlt, or endovenous laser therapy, for varicose vein disease is associated with very little discomfort.
It is typically done in the doctors office using local anesthetic with xylocaine. Some doctors also utilize Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream, a topical skin anesthetic. It is very well tolerated by patients & takes about 40 minutes. If you are anxious about it, as your doctor for a valium to take just prior.

In brief: Little pain

Endovenous laser treatment (evlt) is a minor, outpatient procedure that is performed with local anesthetic.
It causes little pain, essentially no down time, is well tolerated, and has few complications.

In brief: EVLT not painful.

Vein closure procedures such as EVLT and RF are performed under what is called tumescent anesthesia.
This is a very dilute local anesthesia injected around the vein. The procedure does involve some needle injections and some pressure sensations. Heat can also be felt during the procedure. There is some discomfort associated with the procedure but it is well tolerated.
