In brief: Nope

There is currently no way to reverse type one diabetes.
There are studies for newly diagnosed children and several experimental research strategies being pursued internationally. Artificial Pancreas technology is the closest we have gotten to cure, and this is an active area of research now.

In brief: Not at present

Type 1 dm occurs due to distruction of Insulin producing cells.
In some newly diagnosed t1dm kids, they may go thru a phaze where the initial injury subsides & some Insulin is still made for weeks or months but will eventually not be enough & external Insulin must be given.Research in this area is ongoing and the future may see us use implanted glands, but for now this is permanent.
