I have been taking lansoprazole 30mg for two months for peptic ulcers. Can I stop?

Do you feel better? Due to small but substantial risk that peptic (stomach) ulcers may occur in setting of cancer, most gastroenterologists will recommend a follow-up endoscopy after eight weeks of ppi (like lansoprazole) treatment to document healing of the ulcer. If you take nsaid's or other ulcerogenic medications routinely, have untreated h.Pylori, or have persistent peptic symptoms, consider prolonged ppi rx.
