In brief: Chronic Sinusitis

Chronic sinusitis is "inflammation" of the sinus linings for 3 months or longer. Infection can be present, but chronic sinusitis can also be swelling in the absence of infection.
Many causes may contribute to chronic sinusitis, including environmental exposures, allergies, recurrent infections, and a person's own bodily function (i.e, immune system, genetics, anatomy, etc.)
