In brief: Criteria
Transplant professionals will evaluate the condition of your organs at the time of your death and determine if your organs are suitable for donation.
You should consider yourself a potential organ and tissue donor, indicate your intent to donate on your driver's license, donor card, or state donor registry, and discuss your decision with family members.

In brief: HIV + cannot
At this time it is illegal in the us for an HIV + person's organs to be donated for transplantation.
However, the american society of transplant surgeons (asts) and other professional organizations are trying to get legislators to make a change based on the successful principle demonstrated by using hepatitis c infected donor organs for hepatitis c infected recipients - to ease the organ shortage.
