In brief: Bleeding disorder
Vwd is the most common inherited bleeding disorder. Von wiilebrand factor is a clotting protein that helps stabilize clots by helping to bind platelets together and also helps carry factor viii in the blood.
In vwd, vw factor is either decreased or does not function appropriately. Clots will form but they are not stable, can easily fall apart/ dissolve, and bleeding will then occur.

In brief: Bleeding disorder
Vwd is a decrease in production (usually) of a specific protein required for clotting blood, called vw factor. The actual amount produced varies, but bleeding is more common, especially after surgeries or accidents.
There are treatments for this disorder. This is type 1 and it is the most common bleeding disorder.
