In brief: Human/analog insulin
The benefit of rapid analog Insulin over regular human (r) is favorable timing of effects.
It starts working faster (result: better sugar control 2 hours post-meal) and lasts for a shorter time (less risk of low blood sugar 4-6 hours after the shot). In premix, both r and analog insulins are mixed with the same slow acting Insulin nph. Nph still has some risk of low sugar 6-8 hours after the shot.
