In brief: Follow Recommendatio
Dr mosolf's answer is correct.
In addition, overwhelming research data rejects the notion that seperating the components of MMR is beneficial and safer for the child.

In brief: Follow schedule
Currently 99% of pediatricians are recommending that everyone follow the cdc schedule of vaccination for the mmr.
The idea that the MMR vaccine causes autism has been debunked/disproven. In the usa the first MMR is given at age 12 to 15 months. The 2nd dose at age 4 to 6 years.
