Can tight jobst or other stockings cause blood clots in the legs?

In brief: Maybe

Usually, support stockings are used to treat those with blood clots, but if they are not fitted correctly, they can cause problems.
I have seen, once, where someone had a stocking that bunched up just under his knee, and he developed a blood clot right there. This is pretty unusual, though.
