I have been dx'd with scc of the skin. I know it has the potential to spread to lymph nodes. I have a pea size bump in armpit. Should I be concerned?

In brief: Probably not
You gave no details about the scc or about yourself.
Where is it? How old is it? How large? Ulcerated? Do you have an organ transplant? Hiv? Leukemia? Is the scc in an old burn scar? In a chronic ulcer? Most scc are easily cured and are not life-threatening. If they are on the lips, ears or genital areas they are more serious. If you have impaired immunity it is worse.
