Allergy to alcohol is likely nonexistent as the molecule is very small and there are many "alcohols" naturally occuring in the body.
Sensitivity to alcohol is a different matter. Alcohol is metabolized by a cellular enzyme - alcohol dehydrogenase. Levels of ad vary with sex, age and race. Some people are born with low levels and cannot tolerate alcohol well.
