Any testoserone product better androgel or androderm (testosterone)?

I like androgel. If you read the product inserts the best levels are with androgel. There are no head to head studies that are good.
Injectable test. Comparing all transdermal testosterones, androgel, axiron, fortesta, and the patches...No one truly holds a candle to injectable testosterone cypionate, or enantate. Injectable test cyp at a dosing range of 200 to 400 mg every seven days has the undesputed "king of the ring" status. Kaiser hawaii requires you to "fail" on injectable test, to approve any transdermal, like injection site reactions.

Equally effective. Both are equally effective in supplementing testosterone in hypogonadal men and are approved by the fda for such. It's a matter of personal preference as well as formulary coverage. Risk of Androderm is adhesive dermatitis or rash from patch. Risk from AndroGel is transfer to partner or kids. These specific risks are in addition to general risks associated w/testosterone in any other shape or form. Read more...

Which is better androgel or androderm (testosterone)?

Neither. Androgel & Androderm (along w/axiron, fortesta, striant & testim) are just different forms of testosterone. None are better for everyone. It all depends upon cost to you (think insurance or lack thereof) as well as route & frequency of application. Of course, there's always injectable testosterone, too, which is typically cheapest but it's a shot, at least once weekly. Read more...

What the defrenc btween my own testosterone and testosterone replacement by androgel and why treatment of low t are lots of riski'm not my own t?

Testosterone. If you have low testosterone on your own you will benefit from AndroGel or other testosterone therapies. There are potential side effects but that should be monitored by the doctor prescribing your androgel. I monitor psa, hgb/hct, and hdl. If the results indicate possible side effects based on the above labs, discuss this with your doctor. Read more...

I am not in favor . We doctors do not know the safety of long term use of testosterone because it has not been used or study for long term use. It does seem to increase the risk of heart disease. Unless testosterone is extremely low i like my patients to exercise, lose weight and build muscle mass in order to raise testosterone naturally. Did you know that body fat converts testosterone to estrogen? Read more...

What is the main cause of low t? And is there anything that can be done to increase testosterone without taking axiron, androgel, ect.

LOW T. There are some medical conditions that can lead to low t and treating these can help. The definition of low is the issue. It should be drawn at 0800 and other tests need to be drawn to help diagnose other issues that can cause it. T replacement is costly and can lead to the testes no longer producing their own t. What is the best way to increase my testosterone level without androgel?

Depends . . . The best way to increase your t w/o using AndroGel depends upon several factors, including cost, injections & future fertility. Least expensive is injectable t but the down side is the (at least) weekly shot. Any less frequent & you end up on rollercoaster as your levels go up & down. Btw, if you don't want androgel, that means no axiron, Fortesta & testim, right? Consider HCG or clomiphene, too. Read more...
Anastrozole may help. Some guys have low testosterone (t) and high Estradiol (e2), especially if overweight. Fat tissue contains aromatase which converts t into e2. If your t divided by your e2 (t/e2 ratio) is under 10 you may be able to raise t and lower e2 with Anastrozole 1 mg a day (off-label use). This is a better choice than testosterone replacement if you want fertility, but sperm improvements are often modest. Read more...
