How long after removal of mirena (levonorgestrel) should my period start up?

2-12 wks. Assuming you are not having a period on the mirena, (levonorgestrel) the next period should come within the next 4-6 wks. At times, there is an earlier period and some patients may take up to 12 weeks for a spontaneous period. If no period in 6 wks, see your gynecologist.

Had my period July 1st to the 11th the day of my removal of iud mirena (levonorgestrel) had unprotected sex week of 12 to 17th now today is July 28 why I'm a bleeding?

Your period. If your last period started on July 1, this is day 27 of your cycle and your period is due. The removal of your IUD didn't necessarily change that although it can change it for some women. There is only a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant in any given cycle (fecundity) prior to age 30 and this drops as we age. Hope this helps. Read more...

Can u get pregnant right after mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD removal? I got it removed 4 days ago and now I am bleeding could it b my period coming that soon or?

Unlikely, but..... You can get pregnant immediately after removal of an iud, depending where you are in your cycle. That being said, if you are only 4 days post removal, it is too early to check a pregnancy test. Additionally, your periods may be irregular just after removing the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud. I recommend you wait a week, then check a urine pregnancy test. Best of luck! Read more...

How long after the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is removed will I get my period and start ovulating?

It depends. Mirena (levonorgestrel) suppresses the endometrial lining of your uterus. It does not fully suppress ovulation every month. Once it is removed, return to regular cycles can happen very quickly usually within 4 to 6 weeks. If there is no cycle after six weeks of having it removed, you may want to seek a physician's opinion or at least check a home preg test. Irregular periods after Mirena (levonorgestrel) are not related to it. . Read more...

Have the mirena (levonorgestrel) and threads feel longer, been on my period for the last week and half, any chance it has moved (got a scan tomorrow morning)?

Wait and see. It is good that you can still feel your strings. Since you have an ultrasound scheduled for this morning then there is no reason for us to guess. Just wait a few hours and the sonogram will confirm if it is still correctly in place or if your body is attempting to expel it. Read more...
