What are the types of dementia you can get?

There are many. Alzheimer's dementia is the most common type of irreversible dementia. Others include multi-infarct or vascular dementia, lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementias, huntington's disease, creutzfeld-jakob disease. Approximately 1 percent of dementia cases are reversible. They include operable brain tumors, vitamin B12 deficiency, thyroid disease, alcoholism or depression.
Four main types. There are four main types of progressive degenerative dementias: alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, dementia with lewy bodies and fronto-temporal dementia. However, dementia could be caused by other conditions as well, e.g., brain injury, aids.
