Why r HSV 1 or 2 viral tests done when antibodies tests r more accurate? If 1 is neg. 4 viral this week doesn't mean they will stay that way, right?

In brief: Because

If someone has active lesions and it is positive that is what it is.
The blood antibodies take a little while to show up in the blood , so if it is a first outbreak the bolod may not show the antibodies right away but eventually it will.
