Diagnosed with pneumonia 12 days ago and put on z-pack. I completed the meds but am still coughing and am weak. Chest xray neg. What could be wrong?

Unclear. Was your chest x-ray negative from the start (in which case you don't have pneumonia). Your persistent cough may signify an atypical pneumonia (mycoplasma, legionella, chlamydia, viral, etc.), and weakness may simply be a result of slow recovery. Discuss with your doctor, or ride it out and you may slowly recover.

Pneumonia. Post-infectious inflammation triggering cough. Try some salt water nasal rinses and salt water gargles and consider trying an otc cough suppressant like mucinex (guaifenesin).
Pneumonia. Zpak may not be the best choice. There is an increasing frequency of resistance by certain bacteria to azithromycin, so a different antibiotic may be indicated. It's reassuring that the x-ray is negative. Also, reactive airways may contribute to the cough even if the infection is gone. Inhaled steroid may reduce the cough.
