My 18 month old has some bug bites. What can I do for him to relieve the itchiness?

In brief: Topical creams
Over the counter topical itch creams, such as those with Diphenhydramine (benadryl) and 1% hydorcortisone (cortisone 10) will help relieve the itch.
You don't need to goop them on - a dab the size of a pea, dotted around the arm (for example) and rubbed in is enough. If the itch is bad, oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help too.
