In brief: No impact activities

Both artificial joints and arthritic joint cannot tolerate impact.
Impact activities include anything with running & jumping. Low impact activities include bike riding, swimming, water aerobics, walking, elliptical machines, etc. I would anticipate that the knees would not tolerate lots of squatting and bending. Similarly, any activity that causes the big toe to bend up will likely cause pain.
