In brief: ECZEMA

Typical eczema often presents this way.
It is genetic and related to dry skin. Often there are relatives with asthma and eczema. Allergy tests are not helpful & may be harmful. Foods are rarely a factor.Elimination diets may be harmful. Soaking with water followed by application of vaseline or aquaphor is useful. There are good creams such as eucerin, aveeno, (oatmeal) etc. Might need rx.
