I've just been diagnosed with the flu and my wisdom tooth has an abcess is this connected?

An abscess associated with a wisdom tooth is caused by bacteria. They are different and not connected. However, having the flu can make you less resistant to infections overall, so your wisdom tooth infection may well get worse while you're sick with the flu. You really need to get that tooth removed assap. It will not get better by itself long-term.
