Been diagnosed with viral pharyngitis, taking cefaclor, can I drink a hot toddy tea with liquor?

Viral pharyngitis? If it's truly viral pharyngitis, there's no need for the antibiotic (unless there was a bacterial superinfection as well). Liquor may numb the discomfort, but alcohol dries the throat, which the body tries to remedy by producing more mucus. Tea with lemon & honey might be a better choice.
Not logical... If you have viral pharyngitis, they should not have given you antibiotics...Especially one as stronog as cefaclor. You should avoid alcohol when taking prescription meds since you don't know how they may interact. When you are ill with a cold/sore throat do not take antibiotics unless you screen positive for bacteria.
