When does a child need an electrophysiology (ep) study?

Ep. Need to help determine mechanism, and treatment of rhythm disturbance possibly resulting in ablation .
See below. This study is used to evaluate heart rhythm problems.
Depends. Depends on the age of your child. In general terms, a child might need an EP study if an arrhythmia was diagnosed on an office ECG or ambulatory monitory. The EP study is done to come up with a very specific diagnosis. An ablation is usually done after the EP study to try to prevent further episodes of the arrhythmia.
