Motor skill problems are not necessarily the result of damage but rather reflect poor integration of brain parts responsible for motor planning. Quite often, there is no identifiable damage to the areas involved.

By definition, CP is a disorder of motion and posture brought about by injury to the developing nervous system.In the 80's data showed more than 1/2 with classical CP had normal pregnancy/labor/delivery and infancy.
