In brief: Not sitting, crawlin

A typically developing 1 yr old can get to sitting and maintain that position while playing, get back down and crawl, pull to stand, perhaps cruise along furniture, may walk with help orwalk independently, sometimes stoop and recover.

In brief: Gross motor skills

progress head-to-toe the 1st year. Even babies with obvious brain malformations or damage can look good till they have to roll over front-to-side at 4 mos,, front-to back at 5 mos.
,& both ways at 6 mos., but they need EI from the get-go. Maintaining a sit at 6 mos., getting to a sit at 8 mos.,pulling to a stand & walking holding on at 9 mos, 10 independent steps at 12 mos are avg. ages for skills.
