How do you care for an insect sting?

Many treatments. The most thing is to identify whether or not you might have life threatening allergy to insect stings--this type of allergy would be characterized by symptoms that occur away from the sight of the sting. Examples would include head-to-toe hives, shortness of breath, or throat discomfort. If the symptoms are local only, treat with ice and oral benadryl (diphenhydramine).
