In brief: Common

Children often have some septal deformity secondary to mild trauma to the front of the face.
If pediatricians carefully look into the front of the nose, it is likely that some minor deviation will be found. Also, and most important, i believe children rarely complain of obstructed nasal breathing until they are older and become aware of the sense that their breathing is obstructed.

In brief: Deviated septum

A deviated septum is a common issue.
It can be caused by trauma, position in utero and even during the birth process. If there are symptoms like nasal obstruction, snoring or recurrent sinusitis, have your nose evaluated by a board certified otolaryngologist.
