In brief: No

It is best to see an orthopedic specialist or a physiatrest if you have back symptoms.
They can offer a diagnosis and suggest a curative pathway if there is one availble. Chiropractors do no diagnose, cannot cure, but simply offer a deep, sometimes satisfying but sometimes dangerous, massage.

As a neurosurgeon, trained in enmity and scorn for chiropractors, I have been converted from that view by my chiropractic colleagues, many of whom are excellent diagnosticians, and certain can and do help mechanical spinal problems. The smart ones know when to get consultations. As with any healing discipline serious injuries can occur during treatment.
