What are the procedures and effects of a neck lift?

Same as a face lift. You may get other opinions, but in my mind there is really no such thing as an isolated neck lift. A facelift will rejuvenate the face from the lower eyelids to the base of the neck, and often the most beneficial effects are seen in the neck and along the jawline. Excess skin must be removed in an inconspicuous area, and this is why the incisions are around the ears, no matter what is "lifted.".
Neck lift. There are different types of neck lifts to address different anatomical variants just like there are different types of facelifts. Have your neck evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes in these procedures.
Neck lift=facelift. A facelift the procedure used to correct sagging in the lower half of the face and tighten up sagging/loose neck skin. Depending on the degree of improvement a mini-lift type procedure may be a good option. The procedures take from 1.5-3 hours and are performed in the outpatient setting. Recovery is for 3-7 days with some expected bruising and swelling. Pain is mild. Best wishes!
Necklift. Dear pkhealthy9, procedures to lift the neck include a direct neck lift (removing skin), a necklift (removing fat and skin), or a facelift (to lift the lower face and neck). The effects are a sharper jawline, a nicer neck profile and removal of any "turkey gobbler." best, nima shemirani.
Mecklift. Necklift can be just like a lower facelift and will remove loose skin and tighten the neck muscle called platysma. In some individuals loose and hanging skin can be cut out directly in midline as well. Neck liposuction alone can be helpful in individuals with fat excess.
Platysmaplasty. It is uncommon to lift the neck alone but it can be done in rare cases. It is usually done with a facelift. But, liposuction of the neck with or without tightening of the neck muscles (platysmaplasty) can be done in younger patients.
Neck lift . I tend to agree with the person who said that a neckliift is a facelift. It is all semantics but to properly correct the jawline one has to look at the neck as well as the jowls. Those who separate them out are doing so for marketing reasons. Isolated suture necklifts have limited application and if not done properly leave abnormal banding.
Depends on the sag! Younger patients with less sag/fat can see improvement with lipo and internal/external laser techniques. Moderate sagging/fatty necks are improved with lipo and minimally invasive suture techniques. Lots of loose skin and fat is best treated with a face lift. Temper these options with your expectations and recovery time. The more aggressive procedures - better results but longer recovery?
See Answer. Neck lifting may be done as a standalone procedure or in conjunction with a lower facelift. Surgical options include 1) liposuction +/-platysmaplasty (tightening of platysma muscle under chin) but no removal of skin 2) liposuction +/- platysmaplasty and lower facelift with repositioning and removal of neck skin procedure goals include reducing fullness under chin & elimination of loose skin.
