1 doctor agrees

In brief: Unsure

People have tried glucosamine and believe they have less pain from osteoarthritis.
However there are many peole who have taken it without any benefits. A study from the nih looked at glucosamine and was not able to find a direct benefit from glucosamine. In my practice, I have suggested it with chondrotin for oa and occassionaly see some relief in knee and hip pain. It does not reverse or cure oa.
