How harmful are halogens to the body (like chlorine and fluorine), really?

1 doctor agrees

In brief: Depends

Many compounds that enter the body are halogens.
The most common of all is ordinary salt which has chlorine. Halogen acids are extremely corrosive and toxic and not available in ordinary retail sources. Halogen gasses are also very toxic. But exposure from ordinary sources, used as directed, are not toxic.
