Cramping can sometimes be caused by low potassium.
This is probably most likely to happen if you are taking a diuretic. Bananas have potassium, but not a lot of it. In order to replace the potassium you might lose from a diuretic with bananas you need to eat a few every day. If you are not on a diurectic, low potassium probably isn't an issue for you and bananas won't help.
