Damage often affects kidneys, leading to abnormal urine or even kidney failure. Other organs may also get damaged, including the pancreas, brain, and liver. Symptoms depend on which organs get damaged as well as the level of anemia.

Hemolysis means destruction of red blood cells and uremia is kidney failure.Most well known cause is after eating contaminated food /meat with pathogenic e colii bacteria.Diaarhoe, jaundice, renal failure occur and bllod test are available to detect the liver and kidney failure and also the specific bacterial antigen.
