In brief: Reiter's Syndrome
Two types: dysenteric onset or venereal onset.
One with diarrhea (caused by certain bacteria-salmonella, shigella, campylobacter, yersinia. The venereal trigger is chlamydia, & urethral irritation and discharge is common in men initially. People with reiter's syndrome usually have the hla-b27 antigen, or similars: b40, b41, b7. Reiter's usually affects the feet, sijs, and tendons and eyes.

Classical symptoms are painful swollen joints (arthritis), redness & singing of eyes (conjunctivitis or uveitis, & burning on urination (urethritis).
Urinary symptoms usually occur first. Symptoms most commonly develop either following a chlamydia or a ureaplasma std, occasionally after gonorrhea on one hand, others following a severe intestinal infection with salmonella or shigella with diarrhea.
