Numb, weak, clumsy. Common symptoms include numbness (perhaps tingling) in the hands and sometimes the arms. The hands are often weak and lose dexterity (cannot write, type, play musical instruments, button clothing, open bottles). Walking becomes difficult, with decreased balance (need to hold on to walls, use cane or walker).
