In brief: Localized pain

The most common symptom is pain, localized in a specific part of leg that didn't get traumatized.
But even if there hasn't been any hit or trauma, and pain and or swelling doesn't resolve in 2-3 weeks, have it x-rayed. Redness or swelling in area. Fracture of a bone could be pathological, which means some underlying problem in that area.
