"Zoo" means animal. Not sure 'why' you want to know this-but typically in medicine, zoonotic refers to animal related diseases. It is an adjective that describes 'where' and 'how' an infectious disease might affect humans. The other word I think you're typing is 'zoonosis' which is a noun and refers to the actual animal disease that can infect humans. So it's grammatical but the point is we're talking animal diseases.
