Ideally, none. Thyroid hormone in any form is not a weight loss product. Many people, especially those with weight problems to begin with, find that taking too much thyroid hormone can lead to weight gain just as easily as taking too little thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormone should be adjusted to match what the body would make if the thyroid were working normally., and should be weight-neutral. Read more...

Thyrolar (thyroxine and liothyronine) info. Thyrolar (thyroxine and liothyronine) is a trade name for a t4/t3 combination form of thyroid hormone. While T4 gives a smooth onset of action which can take several weeks to stabilize, the T3 component gives a rapid and unnecessarily brief rise in T3 levels. This discordant effect can cause side effects and make thyroid blood tests difficult to interpret. There is no proven benefit to using this type of thyroid hormone. Read more...

Armour (desiccated cadaveric pig thyroid extract) is no better, and certainly less predictable than l-thyroxine. If you prefer Armour, go for it, but effects are the same. Whatever you have, good luck! Read more...
