Gaining too much weight during pregnancy is not good for you just like when you are not pregnant.
Pregnant women should eat a healthy diet and exercise daily. You only need 300 more calories per day in the 3rd trimester. Too much weight gain can increase your risk of diabetes, hypertension, c section, blood clots, infections and other complications. Plus you have more to lose after delivery.
