That's the whole point of using birth control pills to avoid pregnancy. The hormones in the pills prevent ovulation (prevent fertility). If really worried about pregnancy, a urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened).
