Various. Peels can work over time. Fractional co2 ablation can do wonders to get rid of this scars. Microdermabrasion can help in less severe cases. Very severe cases require surgery oftentimes.
Laser/excision. If an acne scar is depressed, consideration of local excision or a resurfacing laser treatment might be helpful. Typically, if the scar is deep, peels and creams cannot effectively eradicate the issue.

The only.... ..Significant side effect from tazorac, (tazarotene) in my experience, is dryness and irritation. Wait an hour after washing your face, to allow normal skin oils to replenish, before applying it. And apply it at bedtime, so that any irritation will occur while you're asleep.

Depressed acne scars. If there is one or a few depressed acne scars, there are a number of ways to help improve its appearance, such as injection of a filler underneath the scar, subscision (loosening the scar tissue beneath the surface), punch excision. If there are more than a few, there are laser treatments that can help.
Acne scar. This is still fairly early in the eating process. Continue gentle massage with non-comedogenic moisturizer and sunscreen.

No. As you have experienced, retin a (tretinoin) van provide many benefits. Unfortunately scar eradication is not one of those benefits. Laser treatments or excision and grafting (depending upon the issue) might be helpful.
Not expected. You are experiencing the expected benefits of Retin-A and doxycycline. Scarring/hyperpigmentation may or may not improve. But if it does, it will take years to occur. Preventing acne with Retin-A means there will be less lesions to heal over time. Keep your treatment regimen going.
