In brief: Any dose.

Even low doses of iron over extended periods of time can accumulate in your system and lead to iron overload which can cause organ damage.
I would suggest not taking iron tablets for any length of time unless you have been evaluated by a physician and know you are iron deficient and your iron levels are monitored; otherwise a MVI (multivitamin) with iron may be adequate.
