Took provera (medroxyprogesterone) to induce period. 3 weeks later I'm still experiencing very tender swollen breasts, cramping and mood swings. Is this normal?

Possible. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) can also make your breast swollen and tender and with mood swings. Sometimes, you can have a hormonal cyst that makes delays your period. By taking Provera (medroxyprogesterone), the hormonal cyst is not treated. So, the hormonal cyst continues to make hormones which makes you moody and also gives you swollen and tender breasts. Provera (medroxyprogesterone) only induces your period. It doe snot treat the cause. Hope this is clear. Read more...

Irregular periods&ovulation-no ovulation for past 3 months. Cd28 now and doctor prescribed me provera (medroxyprogesterone). What if my period comes naturally when taking?

Not natural. If you start your period after taking the provera (medroxyprogesterone), (medroxyprogesterone) then it would likely not be a 'natural' period. It would b a 'withdrawal bleed' induced by the provera (medroxyprogesterone). If you don't want to get pregnant, you should take a birth control pill to prevent pregnancy. The Provera (medroxyprogesterone) will induce a withdrawal bleed and prevent over thickening of the endometrium. It won't prevent or help cause pregnancy. Read more...

Needs further eval. Usually if there is a hormonal issue then both breasts should be involved, and not just one side. It is likely nothing serious, but the fact that it is only one breast makes me a bit concerned. See your doctor for an exam. Read more...
