Neurology
1 doctor agrees

In brief: Neuropathic pain

responds to many different agents.
Its important that the treatment not exacerbate (amitriptyline) nor end up being worse for you (tramadol) than the disease / condition. Serotonergic syndrome and seizures can occur with Ultram. Elavil will cause anticholinergic symptoms and may actually worsen some types of neuropathy. Venlafaxine may help but it is not a top choice in my practice.
