Yes. You may use other hair care products.
Yes. You can use any hair products you like while using loprox (ciclopirox) shampoo.
Which is the most effective cream for seborrheic dermatitis facial region (ketocanzole 2%, ciclopirox 1%, or pimecrolimus 1%)?
Ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is my preference. Apply 2x/day for 1-2 weeks, and then you can use a couple of times/week as maintenance/prevention. Short term use of 1% hydrocortisone cream 1-2/x day can be used for a few days also to minimize redness and irritation. Don't use hydrocortisone frequently due to side effects, including the thinning of the skin in this area.
I suspect I have Seborrheic dermatitis. What concerns me is that lots of hair falls out every time I shampoo. Scalp itches with water.
See derm. People with seborrhea may have a lot of dandruffs but do not lose hair. You need to consult a dermatologist re. The cause for your hair loss (iron def, thyroid disease, autoimmune disorders, contact allergy etc)
Does a flare up of seborrheic dermatitis with pain and burning mean hair will fall. Using clobesol, Nizoral shampoo. Kenalog (triamcinolone) spray and oral prednison?
Hair. Yes, you may lose hair temporarily. Do not overuse topical corticosteroids as long term effects may be skin and hair follicle atrophy. Oral Prednisone is not usually prescribed for seborrhoeic dermatitis.
