Why are survival rates for lung cancer so much lower than other forms of cAncer?

Lung cancer survival. Compared to other cancers in a head-to-head comparison, deaths from lung cancer actually trail cancers of the liver, pancreas, or certain rare aggressive sarcomas. However there is a greater percentage of the population who have lung cancer compared to any of the previously mentioned neoplasms. Survival is most often quoted at only 4% of those diagnosed at 5 years.
