In brief: See below

Blood in the urine is abnormal and needs to be investigated.
There are many causes of bleeding from bladder and kidney.

In brief: Blood in urine

Blood in the urine, hematuria (h), is never normal.
They need to see a urologist to have diagnostic studies on their kidneys and urinary bladder. First, a renal ultrasound is needed. If that is normal, an ivp is done to assess the kidneys. If that is negative a cystoscopy is done to visualize the bladder. Depending on the amount of h, Heparin may be stopped on dialysis. See a urologist quickly.
